About us

Welcome to our website! We are glad you are here. Maybe you did a quick Google search for a Spanish interpreter in Las Vegas, you searched for German translation services for websites, your law firm needs some help with international litigation and you don’t know where to start, or you heard about us from a trusted colleague and want to know more. You’ve come to the right place. Please stay a while and learn a bit more about us and our translation and interpretation services. We are based in Las Vegas, NV and in Vienna, Austria.

As the clever name of our business implies, Twin Translations is owned and operated by identical twins Judy and Dagmar Jenner. Thanks to an international upbringing, we have a multinational, multicultural, and multilingual background and run our boutique translation and interpretation business from Las Vegas, NV and Vienna, Austria. We were born in Austria and grew up in a trilingual household in Mexico City. Our native languages are both German and Spanish.

Between the two of us, we have more than two decades’ worth of high-level translation experience in four languages and multiple college and advanced degrees in languages, translation and business. We have worked for government agencies, non-profits and for-profit companies — from family-owned restaurants to Fortune 500 corporations — on three continents and have hundreds of satisfied clients. We have translated and interpreted for presidents, foreign dignitaries, CEOs and board members of leading companies, Silicon valley-start ups, law firms large and small, and for and at international organizations such as OPEC, United Nations, and the European Union.

You may not be familiar with the difference between translation and interpretation, so allow us to elaborate. Translation is the art of converting written texts from one language to the other, while interpretation is done orally. That means that if President Obama is talking to Chancellor Merkel of Germany, he will be working with a highly qualified diplomatic interpreter. Documents, websites, brochures, and any other printed materials are translated by language professionals. Speaking of credentials: we are delighted to have some of the most prestigious interpreting credentials in the world. Dagmar is a European Union-certified conference interpreter (Spanish, English, French into German) and Judy is a federally certified court interpreter for Spanish. She’s also a certified California court interpreter (Spanish), a Nevada master-level court-certified interpreter (Spanish), and a court-registered German interpreter (Nevada). We share our knowledge with translation and interpreting students at major universities: Dagmar teaches consecutive interpreting (English/Spanish->German) at the master’s degree level at the University of Vienna, and Judy teaches translation and interpretation (English/Spanish) online at the University of California San Diego-Extension.

Our areas of translation expertise include  IT, legal, banking, e-commerce, marketing, tourism, localization, and business. What started out as a business with just the two of us has evolved into a boutique translation agency comprised of some 100 contractors, all of whom we know personally. Our company provides translation services from and into the main European languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and others upon request. For select clients, we also work with Chinese, Japenese, and Vietnamese. We are personally involved in each and every translation, and our personal language combinations are:  English <->Spanish, English<->German, German<->Spanish, and French into German, English, and Spanish. We know that it’s quite unusual to have several language combinations, but our background is quite unusual, too. We’ve received formal education in four countries and four languages. We did the bulk of our secondary education at the prestigious German School Alexander von Humboldt in Mexico City, Mexico, where instruction is provided in both German and Spanish.
