Translations

Translations are everywhere: in books, the media, websites, and subtitles. Often, you don’t even notice them—which is exactly the point. Interpreting

Interpreting is the art of conveying spoken words across languages in real time. Interpreters listen, analyze, and reformulate meaning in a different language—all within seconds. While it may look like magic, the real secret is a combination of solid training, sharp thinking, and natural talent.

We are both highly qualified interpreters with top-level credentials, including accreditation to interpret for the institutions of the European Union. In addition, we each bring extensive international experience:

• In Las Vegas and beyond, Judy offers court, consecutive, liaison, and community (including medical) interpreting in Spanish and German.
• In Europe, Dagmar provides conference (simultaneous), liasion, and community interpreting in Spanish, German, English, and French.
• Together, we enjoy working as a true “dream team” whenever we can.

Both of us hold master’s degrees in conference interpreting—Judy from York University (Canada) and Dagmar from the University of Vienna (Austria)—and we have both taught interpreting at universities in Austria and the US.

We offer both simultaneous and consecutive interpreting services. Simultaneous interpreting is done in real time with technical equipment, usually in a soundproof booth. In consecutive, the interpreter takes notes as she listens to the speaker and then interprets into the target language up to ten minutes at a time. Tell us about your event, and we’ll recommend the interpreting mode that best ensures seamless communication.

Court interpreting

If your law firm, insurance company, or organization requires a federally certified Spanish court interpreter or a Supreme Court of Nevada court-certified Spanish interpreter, you are in the right place.

Based in Las Vegas, Judy Jenner is one of only nine master-level Spanish court-certified interpreters in Nevada (Administrative Office of the Courts, Supreme Court of Nevada). Master-level status is reserved for interpreters who pass the state’s rigorous written and oral examinations with a score of 80% or more. The first-time pass rate is only about 5%.

Since 2015, she has also been a federally certified Spanish court interpreter—a credential held by only four interpreters in the entire state of Nevada. Combined with her extensive experience as a legal translator and community interpreter, this ensures she delivers absolute accuracy and professionalism in every courtroom.

➜ A four-hour minimum applies to all interpreting sessions.
➜ Judy is available for assignments in Las Vegas and beyond. For work outside the Las Vegas metropolitan area, daily and travel rates apply. She regularly works in California, Oregon, Texas, New York, Arizona, etc.
